Principal's Message

Todd Stockwell
Dragon Nation,

It’s hard to believe we are wrapping up the month of April and that the last day of school is right around the corner. I know that everyone is looking forward to a much-deserved summer break, but we have a lot of work left in the final four weeks of the school year. This school year has presented many challenges for our students and staff, but our school community has always risen to the challenge and continued to make each day count for all Doss stakeholders. I look forward to the days ahead and celebrating with the class of 2022 at the end of May. Thank you for your continued commitment to making Doss High School a great place to go to school.

We were able to hold our annual Who’s Who Ceremony on Friday April 22nd. Congratulations to the 23 Senior students who were recognized and honored. Being a Who’s Who recipient means that you have exemplified an outstanding overall student in and out of the classroom. As you know, the last several years have been very difficult on our school community and we have not been able to have a formal ceremony. It was awesome to honor members of the class of 2022 face to face with their family members. You can go to for a full list of our 2022 Who’s Who recipients. Graduation has been set for Friday May 27th at 3:00 p.m. on the Doss High School football field. We are very excited to honor the class of 2022 and to celebrate with the entire Doss community. Seniors were given a full list of Senior activities that will take place May 23rd – May 26th. It is very important that all 12th grade students finish out the school year strong and to make sure all requirements are met prior to May 20th. Feel free to reach out to our Counseling Office with all graduation questions.

I wanted to make sure I communicated about our upcoming State Accountability for 10th and 11th grade students. Our testing window is May 10th-May 19th. The Kentucky Summative Assessments will be how our school is held accountable when scores are released in September of 2022. I can’t stress enough the importance of these assessments. We need the entire the school community to rally behind our students to ensure they give their absolute best effort when these assessments begin in a few weeks:
Tuesday, May 10: 10th grade Survey and Reading 8:15-10:45
Wednesday, May 11: 11th grade Survey and Science 8:15-10:15
Thursday, May 12: 10th grade Math 8:15-9:45
Monday, May 16: 11th grade Social Studies 8:15-9:45
Wednesday, May 18: 11th grade Editing/Mechanics 8:15-9:00
Thursday, May 19: 11th grade ODW 8:15-9:45

Our Spring Sports are in full swing. Currently, we have students representing Doss in Baseball, Softball, and Track and Field. Please visit our website for a full list of events, and reach out to our Athletic Director, Mr. McCreedy ( with any questions. Good luck to our student athletes on the rest of the season. I look forward to a successful close to the school year and to celebrating the accomplishments of all students at Doss High School. Do not hesitate to reach out to the school with any close of the school year questions. Stay safe and healthy.
